Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

The Office of Emergency Management manages the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program at Kennesaw State University. There are over 200 AEDs located across both campuses. There is, at minimum, one AED per floor per building. Larger buildings, such as Kennesaw Hall, have more than one AED per floor to try and maintain a 3 minute "drop to shock" timeframe for anyone who suffers a sudden cardiac arrest while on campus. OEM also teaches CPR/AED classes to faculty, students, and staff where attendees learn how to perform CPR and how to properly use an AED.
